Where Anchorage is served from

Anchorage sits on the wrong side of open water from its consulate. Treat any consular errand as a scheduled journey rather than an errand, and write to the consulate before booking a seat.
Alaska also has a Philippine honorary consulate in Juneau. It does not replace the consulate, no passports, no oaths, no notarials, but it is a local first call, and honorary consulates are usually the first to announce outreach missions in their area.
Watch for consular outreach missions before committing to the full journey. Three procedures that skip the consulate entirely
Three of the most searched Philippine procedures in the United States are not consular procedures at all:
- PSA certificates, birth, marriage, death and CENOMAR are issued in Manila and ordered online, delivered to any US address.
- Documents signed by a US notary or issued by a US authority need a state apostille, not a consular stamp. The consulate has no role in that chain.
- NBI clearance is applied for by mail to the Philippines; only the fingerprint card needs a consular officer.
What does require appearing in person is anything biometric or signed: a passport, the oath of allegiance and a special power of attorney signed before a consular officer.
